Meet Kutay Manfurat: Managing Director
I am Kutay Manfurat, a professional with extensive experience in theater, production, and performing arts. My artistic journey began in 2012 with amateur theater, and in 2017, I moved to the United States to further my education in acting and production. I studied Acting as a major at HB Studio in New York and Columbia College Hollywood in California. Additionally, I pursued minors in Directing and Cinematography, gaining a versatile competence in performing arts and film production.

Since 2018, I have been serving as an assistant and production coordinator at the Turkish American Arts Society of New York (TAASNY) and the New Manhattan Sinfonietta orchestra. Within TAASNY, I take on various responsibilities as an Assistant, Actor, Creative Team Member, and Board Member. I actively participate in organizing prestigious events such as the “Anatolian Inspirations” concerts at Carnegie Hall. Throughout this process, I have developed a deep understanding of the importance of teamwork by meticulously handling every aspect of event planning and backstage operations. I am also responsible for artist programming, audience logistics, and backstage management.

Furthermore, I am involved in the “Karagöz Everywhere” project, which aims to introduce traditional Turkish shadow play art to the United States. I actively contribute to stage management and performance, ensuring that Turkish culture reaches diverse communities. Through this project, I take pride in introducing the art of Karagöz to various schools, universities, and cultural organizations across the U.S., reaching more than 50,000 audiences in over 20 states.

My acting career continues with significant roles in various theater productions. Some of my notable performances include the role of Pale in Lanford Wilson’s Burn This, Edmund in William Shakespeare’s King Lear, and Recep Kahya in Alemdar Destanı by Cihangir Amca. These roles have not only helped me enhance my stage skills but have also strengthened my identity as an artist.
Turkish is my native language, and I am fluent in English. The experience I have gained in the arts and event management fields has provided me with great flexibility in planning and executing events successfully. I take great pleasure in contributing to the success of projects with my strong teamwork skills and disciplined work ethic.
