About the event
America, Know Thyself!
Celebrating America's 250th Anniversary
Join us for an extraordinary evening at Carnegie Hall as music, history, poetry, and drama come together to celebrate the 250th anniversary of American independence.
Presented by the Foundation for the Revival of Classical Culture, this landmark concert features internationally acclaimed conductor and Turkish State Artist Maestro Gürer Aykal, leading the America 250th Orchestra in collaboration with the New Manhattan Sinfonietta.
A highlight of the evening will be Esintiler (Inspirations from Anatolia) by distinguished Turkish composer Ferit Tüzün, bringing the vibrant musical heritage of Anatolia to one of the world's most prestigious concert stages.
The program also celebrates America's musical and historical heritage through inspiring vocal performances, choral works, and Antonín Dvořák's celebrated Symphony No. 9, From the New World, which received its world premiere at Carnegie Hall on December 16, 1893.
